H.Res. 314 is expected to be considered on the floor of the House on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, under a motion to suspend the rules, requiring a two-thirds vote for passage. The resolution was introduced by Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY)) on April 1, 2009.
H.Res. 314 would resolve that the House of Representatives:
• "Congratulates and salutes Hillerich & Bradsby Co. on the 125th anniversary of the Louisville Slugger; and
• "Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to make available enrolled copies of this resolution to Hillerich & Bradsby Co. for appropriate display."
According to the resolution's findings, John Andrew "Bud" Hillerich made the first Louisville Slugger, originally known as the "Falls City Slugger", for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning of the Louisville Eclipse in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1884.
