On Monday, December 8, 2014, the House will consider H.R. 5562, a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 801 West Ocean Avenue in Lompoc, California, as the “Federal Correctional Officer Scott J. Williams Memorial Post Office Building,” under a suspension of the rules.  H.R. 5562 was introduced on September 18, 2014 by Rep. Lois Capps (D-CA) and referred to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Background

Senior Officer Specialist Scott J. Williams was killed in the line of duty at the U.S. Penitentiary in Lompoc, California on April 3, 1997.[1]  He served with honor as a member of the U.S. Marines.
