On Monday, November 17, 2014, the House will consider H.R. 5331, a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 73839 Gorgonio Drive in Twentynine Palms, California, as the “Colonel M.J. ‘Mac’ Dube, USMC Post Office Building,” under a suspension of the rules. H.R. 5331 was introduced on July 31, 2014 by Rep. Paul Cook (R-CA) and referred to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which ordered the bill reported by voice vote.
H.R. 5142 designates a U.S. Post Office facility located in Twentynine Palms, California as the “Colonel M.J. ‘Mac’ Dube, USMC Post Office Building.”
Colonel M.J. “Mac” Dube served over 30 years in the United States Marine Corps, and received numerous awards and decorations, including four Bronze Stars with Combat “V”; the Silver Star; four Purple Hearts; two Air Medals; the Joint Service Commendation Medal with Combat “V”; three Navy Commendation Medals with Combat “V”; and the Combat Action Ribbon. Colonel Dube was elected to the Twentynine Palms City Council in 1994 and served twice as mayor. Colonel Dube passed away on April 29, 2014 at the age of 80.
