Background

Philmore Graham served in the Air Force and worked at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard. He held the distinction of being the only African American to hold the position of supervisor at Mare Island’s Department of Nuclear Energy.[1] Mr. Graham founded the Continentals of Omega Boys and Girls Club in Vallejo, which has worked with thousands of young people since its founding.[2] Mr. Graham received numerous awards for his public service, including the NAACP’s Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award. He passed away in June of 2014.
