On Monday, September 8, 2014, the House will consider H.R. 5019, a bill designating the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 1335 Jefferson Road in Rochester, New York, as the “Specialist Theodore Matthew Glende Post Office,” under a suspension of the rules. Background

Specialist Theodore M. Glende was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.[1] He lost his life on July 27, 2012 serving during Operation Enduring Freedom in Logar province, Afghanistan.[2] He was shot while giving medical attention to his fellow soldiers, an act he was awarded for posthumously.
