On Thursday, November 13, 2014, the House will consider H.R. 4846, the Arapaho National Forest Boundary Adjustment Act of 2014, under suspension of the rules. H.R. 4846 was introduced on June 11, 2014 by Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO) and was referred to the House Natural Resources Committee. The bill was marked up on September 18, 2014 and was ordered reported, as amended, by unanimous consent.
H.R. 4846 adjusts the boundary of the Arapaho National Forest in Colorado to include approximately 93 additional acres of land, once permission is obtained from the landowners. The bill provides that the federal government may only acquire the land by donation or exchange.
According to CBO estimates, implementing H.R. 4846 would not significantly impact the federal budget. The bill would not affect direct spending or revenues.
