On Monday, July 14, 2014, the House will consider H.R. 451, a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 500 North Brevard Avenue in Cocoa Beach, Florida, as the “Richard K. Salick Post Office,” under a suspension of the rules. H.R. 451 was introduced on February 1, 2013 by Rep. Bill Posey (R-FL) and referred to the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which ordered the bill reported by unanimous consent.
H.R. 451designates the U.S. Postal Service facility located at 500 North Brevard Avenue in Cocoa Beach, Florida, as the “Richard K. Salick Post Office.”
Richard Salick was an internationally renowned professional surfer who competed in the 1960’s and 1970’s for the U.S. and World Surfing teams. Mr. Salick was a tireless advocate for the National Kidney Foundation after being diagnosed with Kidney Disease in 1973. Mr. Salick passed away in 2012 at the age of 62.
