First Sergeant Landres Cheeks served in the United States Army Medical Corps for 30 years participating in World War II (Germany and France) and the Vietnam War, and also served as a volunteer crossing guard for Holy Child Jesus School in Canton, MS, for more than 25 years.

According to CBO, any costs related to new post office designations, which include the cost of changing the name on the building, signs, and maps, are not significant.
