On Monday, July 14, 2014, the House will consider H.R. 3534, a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 113 West Michigan Avenue in Jackson, Michigan, as the “Officer James Bonneau Memorial Post Office,” under a suspension of the rules. H.R. 3534 was introduced on November 19, 2013 by Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI) and referred to the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which ordered the bill reported by unanimous consent.
H.R. 3534 designates the U.S. Postal Service facility located at 113 West Michigan Avenue in Jackson, Michigan, as the “Officer James Bonneau Memorial Post Office.”
On March 9, 2010, Jackson, Michigan Police Officer James Bonneau was killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic disturbance. He was 26.
