On Tuesday, March 1, 2016, the House will consider H.R. 2814, to name the Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Sevierville, Tennessee, the Dannie A. Carr Veterans Outpatient Clinic, under suspension of the rules. H.R. 2814 was introduced on July 17, 2015 by Rep. David Roe (R-TN) and was referred to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
H.R. 2814 would name the Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Sevierville, Tennessee, the Dannie A. Carr Veterans Outpatient Clinic.
Specialist Four Dannie A. Carr, of Sevierville, Tennessee, served with distinction during the Vietnam War in B Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. Specialist Four Carr, twice wounded in battle and later killed in action by artillery fire on July 3, 1969, was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor and the Purple Heart.[1]
