On Monday, March 24, 2014, the House will consider H.R. 2391, a bill To Designate the Facility of the United States Postal Service located at 5323 Highway N in Cottleville, Missouri as the "Lance Corporal Phillip Vinnedge Post Office,” under a suspension of the rules. H.R. 2391 was introduced on June 14, 2013 by Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO) and was referred to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which ordered the bill reported by unanimous consent.
H.R. 2391 designates a U.S. Postal Service facility located in Cottleville, Missouri as the “Lance Corporal Phillip Vinnedge Post Office.” Moreover, the bill states that any reference to the facility in any law, regulation, map, document, record, or other paper of the United States shall be considered in reference to the Lance Corporal Phillip Vinnedge Post Office.
Marine Lance Corporal Phillip Vinnedge was killed in action while serving with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force. He died on October 13, 2010 while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
