Background

Congressman Ralph Regula represented the 16th District of Ohio in the House of Representatives from 1973 through 2009.  Congressman Regula retired in January after eighteen terms.  At the time, he was the second-longest serving House Republican.  The 16th Congressional District of Ohio is in the northeastern part of the state and includes the cities of Canton, Wooster, and Ashland.
