On June 17, 2014, the House will consider H.R. 1391, a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 25 South Oak Street in London, Ohio, as the ‘‘Lance Corporal Joshua B. McDaniels and Veterans Memorial Post Office Building,’’ under a suspension of the rules. H.R. 1391 was introduced on March 21, 2013 by Rep. Steve Stivers (R-OH) and referred to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which ordered the bill reported, as amended, by unanimous consent.
H.R. 1391 designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 25 South Oak Street in London, Ohio, as the “Lance Corporal Joshua B. McDaniels and Veterans Memorial Post Office Building.”
United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal Josh McDaniels served with 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejune, North Carolina. He was assigned to a mine detection unit in Afghanistan, securing the path for his fellow soldiers. He was killed in action on June 12, 2011 while conducting operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan at the age of 21.[1]
