Biden’s Weak Border Security Continues To Threaten Our National Security

President Biden’s policies have created a crisis on the border that’s encouraging migrants to enter the country unlawfully in an unprecedented surge. But his refusal to provide for the border security we need has also made our country susceptible to terrorists and other national security threats.

Earlier this week, it was reported that two Yemeni men on the FBI terrorist watch list were recently apprehended at the border attempting to to illegally enter the United States:

  • NY Post: “Two Yemeni men on the FBI’s terror watchlist arrested at southern border”

This news was initially disclosed in a press release by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, but then that release was deleted from their website in an apparent attempt by the Biden Administration to conceal the consequences of their open borders policies:

  • Fox News: “CBP deletes press release outlining arrest of Yemeni border crossers on terror watch list”

The negative effects of President Biden’s border security policies have been felt since the day he took office. The surge in unaccompanied minors coming to the border is a direct result of his rhetoric and his Administration’s policies, and he has refused to take the steps necessary to secure the border. Now, we know this crisis also poses a direct national security threat to our nation. While these terrorists were fortunately arrested, their attempt to enter our country through the southern border shows how critical it is that we have strong security in place so we can keep our country safe.

In response to this news, Leader McCarthy sent a letter to FBI Director Wray and CIA Director Burns, requesting a classified briefing regarding individuals apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol:
