Today the House Budget Committee released “A Balanced Budget for a Stronger America.” It’s a plan to rein in Washington’s reckless spending, promote a healthy economy, protect our nation, and save and strengthen vital programs like Medicare for today’s seniors and tomorrow’s retirees.
Here’s how we do it:
Our proposal balances the budget in 10 years without raising taxes, in contrast with the President’s budget, which never balances. Our plan places the country on a path to pay off the debt by growing the economy and making government more efficient, effective and accountable.
Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN)
Our budget repeals ObamaCare in its entirety – including all of its taxes, regulations and mandates. It promotes freedom of choice, affordability, and patient-centered health care solutions.
Rep. Diane Black (R-TN)
Our budget ensures a strong national defense, boosting spending levels above the President’s levels while putting in place a plan to responsibly address the current spending caps and threat of sequestration.
Rep. Alex Mooney (R-WV)
Our budget lays the foundation for new jobs and growing wages. It calls for a fairer, simpler tax code to promote job creation and a healthy economy.
Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN)
Our budget restores power to the states, rejecting the notion that Washington knows best. It promotes innovation and flexibility for Medicaid, education, and other programs.
Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-AR)
