70 percent tax? “call me a radical”

We all knew a self-described socialist like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would push for tax increases, but on her second day in Congress she’s already launching a full-blown assault on American taxpayers.

In an interview set to air Sunday, Ocasio-Cortez proposed a tax bracket of 70 percent:

“Once you get to the tippie-tops, on your $10 millionth dollar, sometimes you see tax rates as high as 60% or 70%. That doesn’t mean all $10 million dollars are taxed at an extremely high rate. But it means that as you climb up this ladder, you should be contributing more,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

Asked if she considers herself a radical, Ocasio-Cortez replied, “Yeah, if that’s what radical means, call me a radical.”But that’s not the only “radical” proposal Ocasio-Cortez and her allies are embracing. Fellow socialist Rashida Tlaib’s unhinged comments about impeaching the President reveal exactly what they’re focused on.

This all begs the question: What really are the top priorities for House Democrats – and does their caucus support a 70 percent income tax?
