- Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA)
- Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)
- Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA)
- Representative Doug Collins (R-GA)
Chair McMorris Rodgers Remarks as Prepared for Delivery:
“Yesterday the President sent his budget to Congress. It includes more spending, more debt, and more taxes. In other words: less certainty, less job growth, and less take-home pay. It means that the government will grow while the middle class will not.
“It means that moms and dads who are already struggling to make ends meet will have an even harder time supporting their families. It means that young people will remain out of the workforce instead of in it. And the President’s budget is just one example. Whether it’s at the doctor’s office, around the kitchen table, or at the thermostat in your home, what we do in Washington impacts the lives of hardworking Americans, and right now, not always for the better.
“House Republicans want to make life easier for people – for moms and dads, for seniors, for college graduates looking for jobs. So that’s why this week we’re voting to ease the squeeze on the working middle class – to make their lives easier with real solutions, not more government.”
