- House Republicans know we are in a serious recession.
- The American people are hurting and Republicans know Congress must act now.
- This so-called stimulus bill is simply a long wish list of big government spending that won't work. It won't create jobs and won't stimulate the economy and will do more harm than good.
- Democrats made a bad bill worse by cutting back on tax relief to pay for more big government spending.
- The American people are asking how $2 billion for "community organizing" for ACORN will create jobs?
- How will $1 billion to ration healthcare and millions to purchase "green" golf carts help Americans who are out of work?
- Republicans have a better solution: fast-acting tax relief for working families and small businesses that will create twice the jobs at half the cost.
- Republicans want to see our nation's economy recover, and Republicans still want to work with the Administration and our Democrat colleagues to build a stimulus bill that will work.
