Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) will be delivering the Republican Address following State of the Union:
Americans voted for change, and Sen. Ernst will explain what the new Congress plans to do — and what it is already doing — to return Washington’s focus to the concerns of the middle class and away from the demands of the political class.
- Sen. Ernst is not only the first woman elected to any federal elected office from Iowa, she’s also the first female combat veteran to serve in the U.S. Senate.
- Lt. Col. Joni Ernst has dedicated her life to Iowa and her country, serving in the military (Iowa National Guard) for more than 20 years and has deployed overseas.
- Sen. Ernst is focused on growing a vibrant economy and expanding the middle class.

Representative Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) will be delivering the Republican Spanish-Language Address:
“It is a true privilege to deliver the Spanish-Language Republican Address,” Rep. Curbelo said. “We must work together towards policies that will lead to a healthy economy that offers greater opportunities for all Americans — especially those who feel left behind.”
