Congressman Tim Huelskamp takes a question from a caller in Larned, Kansas concerning a proposed regulation by the Department of Labor concerning child labor on family farms. The proposed rule would forbid children under 16 from certain types of labor, including work with power-driven equipment, livestock and pesticides, and from working more than 6 feet off the ground.
Congressman Huelskamp expressed concern stating families and family-operated farms can oversee safety measures and the well-being of their employees to a greater extent than bureaucrats in Washington.
