Congressman Huelskamp delivered a special order speech on the floor of the House on Wednesday, April 25 to warn of the impending storm of tax increases. On January 1, 2013 the United States will see an across-the-board tax increase, the biggest in this country's history. Under current rhetoric, the president would like everyone to believe these tax increases are "fair" and "necessary," despite claiming repeatedly in the past that it's counter-productive to raise taxes during a recession.
Congressman Huelskamp has supported several tax reform proposals to simplify our tax code, lower rates and provide tax certainty for job creators. The most fundamental purpose of the tax code is to raise enough revenue in order to fund essential functions that fall within the purview of government. America needs and deserves a tax code that's not premised on putting American vs. American in a class warfare struggle.
