"Remarkable Consensus" for Petri Student Loan Proposals Among Education Reform Community

At a House Education and the Workforce Committee hearing on November 13, 2013, U.S. Representative Tom Petri (R-WI) noted the expert witnesses' consensus that moving to some form of a universal income-based repayment system would be beneficial for students and simplify the process. Petri has introduced legislation -- H.R. 1716, the ExCEL Act -- to move to a simple and improved universal income-based repayment system.
