On September 11, 2012, the members of House and Senate gathered around the United States Capitol to remember the fallen heroes of 9/11. "I will never forget the events that took place on September 11, 2001. Nor do I want to. The heroes we talk about today make me proud to be an American and a human. These men and women highlight and epitomize the very best of the human spirit. While nothing can ever extinguish the pain and loss that every family member, friend, and colleague feels for those we lost; we must remember the resiliency, determination and hope that ensued in the weeks and months that followed," said Rep.
