Neugebauer opposes listing the Lesser Prairie-Chicken as threatened under the Endangered Species Act: "The economic impact just in Texas alone would be in the millions of dollars in the first year. Industries including agriculture, ranching, oil and gas, wind, and transportation would have to cut back on production and lay off workers. In a region suffering from historic drought and a tough economy, we can't afford that."
