August 15, 2012 - Congressman Randy Neugebauer attended and gave brief remarks at the opening ceremony of the Myra P. Martinez elementary school in Abilene, TX. The new school will replace Fannin and College Heights elementary schools and will be located at the site of the old Franklin Middle School. The new school is being named for Myra P. Martinez, a former Abilene Independent School District teacher who served at both Fannin and College Heights schools, which are being combined into the new facility. Martinez worked as both a teacher and later an administrator with the Region 14 Service Center. Her career was dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
