On Tuesday, February 5, I participated in the House Republican Leadership press conference to discuss the need for a serious budget plan to address our nation's spending crisis. The latest effort by House Republicans, the PLAN Act, will require the president to tell the American people how he plans to balance the budget. The president has been late submitting his budget proposal to Congress four out of the last five years, and not only did his previous budget not balance, but it also received zero vote from either Republicans or Democrats. This is not leadership and the American people deserve better.
