At a House Natural Resources Committee hearing on "The Impact of Catastrophic Forest Fires and Litigation on People and Endangered Species: Time for Rational Management of our Nation's Forests," Rep. Noem questioned panelists on whether the federal government or state and local governments are best equipped to manage forests and public lands. She also questioned the impact dead trees infested by the pine beetle have in contributing to forest fires.
