Congresswoman Granger spoke at the commissioning ceremony of the U.S.S. Fort Worth. This ship is the third littoral combat ship and is the Navy's next-generation of warship. It is the first ship to carry the City of Fort Worth's name and was commissioned at the Port of Galveston in Texas. The ship's motto "Grit and Tenacity" reflects the character of the great City of Fort Worth.
