RAILROAD ROBBERY: Taxpayer-Funded Amtrak Loses $$ Every Year

On August 5, 2012, the Fox & Friends hosts discuss taxpayer-funded Amtrak's staggering losses on food and beverage service. At a Congressional Hearing called by Chairman John Mica (FL-07), it was uncovered that Amtrak losses in food and beverage service have amounted to a staggering $833 million over the last ten years. It costs passengers $9.50 to buy a cheeseburger on Amtrak, but the cost to Amtrak is $16.15 each. Riders pay $2.00 for a Pepsi, but it costs Amtrak $3.40 to serve each of these sodas.
