Bernanke: Housing Provides Important Impetus to Growth

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, answering Rep. John Campbell at a House Budget Committee hearing, concludes that a rebound in the housing market is necessary to facilitate overall economic recovery. The Fed Chairman states that, "The recovery in housing would be a very important boost to the overall economy." He goes on to explain that, "There are a number of legal and administrative and regulatory barriers to housing being as strong as it should be."
