Rep. Campbell: Stalling Keystone Pipeline More of President's "Narrative of Pain"
October 14, 2013
Oct. 11, 2013: Speaking with Charles Payne on Fox Business Network's "Cavuto", Congressman John Campbell (CA-45) highlights President Obama's use of the "Government Shutdown" to further delay the Keystone XL Pipeline. Noting that the President is already philosophically opposed to the job-creating, energy-producing project, Campbell points out the hypocrisy of the White House's attempt to delay the pipeline through the shutdown even as it blames the Republican House for the serious economic consequences of this action. Campbell calls this more of the President's "manufactured narrative of pain."
"You know and i know that [the U.S unemployment rate level] is due to a lot of regulation standing in the way of all the genuine engines that are out there in the economy, one of the biggest of which is energy production. But, they have a lot of regulations that are preventing us from having that be an even greater engine to our economy. Whether it's that or 3D printing or so many other elements of the economy, Obamacare is putting a wet blanket on all this. We know [over-regulation] is the real cause of what is slowing the economy."
