Obamacare Individual Mandate: Is It Constitutional?

March 28, 2012
The Supreme Court is in its 3rd day of hearing arguments on Obamacare's constitutionality. The Supreme Court is deciding whether the Constitution empowers Congress to require that virtually all Americans purchase or obtain health insurance coverage. This mandate requiring all individuals to purchase health insurance is an unprecedented form of federal action and overreach. Obamacare was pushed into law and we were told that the more Americans learned about it, the more they would like it. That has not happened. Americans remain strongly opposed to the health law and its expansion of the role of government in their lives. I visited the Supreme Court today during the ongoing hearings.
