Upton: FDA Reform Act supports American patients, medical innovation, and job creators

May 30, 2012
Representative Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) speaking on the House Floor in support of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Reform Act (H.R. 5651), which will reauthorize FDA user fees to ensure continuation of various FDA programs and the creation of new ones to facilitate the review and approval of life-saving, life-improving drugs and medical devices. This legislation will not only help our local medical product manufacturers continue to lead the world in innovation, but ensure that American patients and healthcare providers have access to the latest life-saving drugs and medical devices. Earlier this month, Upton visited with employees of local medical industry leaders Pfizer and Stryker, who will benefit from a more efficient, transparent, and consistent FDA.
