Paulsen: It's Time for Action to End Sex Trafficking
January 8, 2014
Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) took time on the House floor to recognize National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month and push for an end to sex trafficking.
Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) and Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-04) introduced bipartisan legislation in November to combat sex trafficking in American communities. The Stop Exploitation Through Trafficking Act gives law enforcement the tools they need to turn the tide against sex trafficking in U.S. communities and help victims of these horrific crimes receive the support they need and deserve.
In July, Congressman Paulsen introduced the Child Sex Trafficking Data and Response Act with Congresswoman Slaughter (D-NY). The bill improves data systems that track missing children as well as provides proper designation to ensure victims receive the care and help they need.
