Cattle Call July 11: Lummis Discusses U.N. Arms Trade Treaty
July 11, 2012
U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo) joined 129 members of the House of Representatives in a letter to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about the Administration's decision to join negotiations for a new U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). The United Nations is currently in negotiations in New York concerning the Arms Trade Treaty. If the negotiations produce an international treaty and President Obama agrees to sign it, the treaty would then go to the U.S. Senate for ratification, which requires a 2/3's majority vote of approval.
