On Thursday, February 17, 2011, Congressman Dent, co-chair of the Cement Caucus, spoke on the House floor in favor of an Amendment offered by Rep. John Carter (TX-31) to H.R. 1, the FY2011 Continuing Resolution. The Amendment would prevent the implementation of an ill-advised EPA rule that would devastate the US cement industry, which is a crucial component of the 15th District's local economy. This important measure passed the House by a vote of 250 to 177.
