Congressman Latta Presents Flag to Indian Hills Elementary School

April 23, 2012
Congressman Bob Latta presented Indian Hills Elementary School with a flag that flew over the Capitol building. The flag is being presented after two sixth grade students wrote a letter to Congressman Latta. Excerpt from the letter: "Our custodian and gym coach would like it if my friend and I would write a letter to the U.S. Congress asking if we could get a new flag for our flag pole at our school. They want us to write this letterbecause our flag is so torn because we have had it for such a long time. That is why we are writing this letter to you asking if we could get a new flag. We heard this from a teacher that holds lots of bullying programs. He said if we write a letter to you that you might send a glad that was flown over the U.S. Congress building to our school for us to hang over our school. We would strongly appreciate that if you send us a flag from U.S. Congress to hang over school. That would be an honor for our school. Our school was built in 1970 and ever since then I think that our school has only had one flag."
