Blaine welcomed Monsignor Robert Kurwicki of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Jefferson City who on March 20, 2013, delivered the opening prayer at on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. Since 2011, Monsignor Kurwicki has served as the Chaplain for the Missouri House of Representatives. Additionally, he is a member of the Priests Senate and the Vice-Chancellor of the Diocese of Jefferson City.
