Posey Introduces Amendment to Hold Regulators Accountable for Overreaching Their Authority
July 26, 2012
Congressman Posey introduces an Amendment to require that the payment of awarded attorneys fees and costs arising from lawsuits over bad regulations be paid for out of the administrative budget of the particular office of the agency that advanced the problematic rule. The Amendment intended to ensure federal rule makers have more "skin in the game" and exercise more diligence when crafting federal regulations and not exceed their authority. The Amendment passed the House with bipartisan support - 248-171. July 25, 2012
