Congressman Barr welcomed Commissioner Charles Vice to the House Financial Services Committee. A resident of Winchester, Kentucky, Commissioner Vice has earned an outstanding reputation in the area of financial institution supervision.
Mr. Vice currently serves as the Commissioner of the Department of Financial Institutions for the Commonwealth of Kentucky -- a position he was appointed to in August 2008. In this role, Commissioner Vice has responsibility for the regulatory oversight of all state-chartered financial institutions in Kentucky, which includes examinations, licensing of financial professionals, registration of securities and enforcement. It is a credit to Commissioner Vice that the financial institutions in my congressional district --which he interacts with on a regular basis -- consistently tell me that he is knowledgeable, thoughtful, and fair in this role. Congressman Barr would like to thank Commissioner Vice for sharing his expertise on the impact of Dodd-Frank on home ownership.
