“I am pro-life because I believe life begins at conception. At that point, every life has a plan, a purpose, and a destiny that is snuffed out if their life is ended through abortion. This is a detriment to us all. When the Roe v. Wade decision came down, many of my friends said it was a good decision because it was about women’s rights. Later, when I took a child development class in high school, the reality of abortion became clear. I saw pictures of the developing baby at all stages and realized that abortion not only silences a beating heart, but the rights of that unborn life. I became pro-life and have never wavered.
“When I became a high school teacher, I saw the devastation of abortion on the lives of so many young women and heard the lies of groups providing abortion. They told one of my students that her 8-week baby developing inside her womb was a “blob of tissue.” It was and is more than that. Thankfully, the expectant mother chose life and her ‘baby’ today is an adult loved by its family and a contributing member of society.
“I applaud those who are on the front lines everyday reaching out to hurting women and providing the support and care they need to bring their baby into this world and care for it afterward through maternity homes and pregnancy care centers.
“I also champion the women who courageously choose life for their children and make an adoption plan for them. There are many positive options to an unplanned pregnancy besides abortion. I hope more women choose adoption as an option so their baby not only lives, but also has the chance of a wonderful life in the home of a loving mom and dad.
“I am pro-life because I am pro-woman and believe they deserve the truth about abortion procedures and the realities of their decision. We must expose the lies. I am grateful to have been appointed to serve on the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives to help uncover all of the facts. Protecting the dignity of human life deserves our undivided attention.
“All individuals have an equal right to life, including the lives of the unborn. Since Roe v. Wade, over 58 million lives have been painfully and forever ripped from this world. If my student would have listened to the lies of the abortionists in her time of crisis her baby would have been part of that tragic number. I am proud to be pro-life and I will continue fighting for those who cannot stand, speak, or fight for their own life. “
