Today we join together as Americans, bound by the same love of economic freedom the Iron Lady espoused in Great Britain, to pay tribute to a remarkable woman and an extraordinary life. The world lost one of the greatest champions of freedom today with the passing of Margaret Thatcher. Lady Thatcher ushered in economic reforms that rescued her country from troubled times, faced down the enemies of liberty with unwavering resolve, and changed the course of history – and conservatism – with her leadership. She once said, 'You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it' – and this she most certainly did. Her exemplary life of service, grace and leadership shall be remembered for all of our years to come.
