Today, the American flag is flown at half-staff to honor the victims of the tragic event in Arizona.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Congresswoman Giffords, her staff, and everyone involved.  We honor all of those who have been and continue to be public servants for the United States of America. Chairman Jeb Hensarling released the following statement on the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and members of her staff:

“My thoughts and prayers go out to Gabby and her staff.  Gabby is one of the dearest, sweetest members of the House.  Like so many members of Congress, I consider her a personal friend.
 
“This incredible tragedy is obviously a heinous crime.  I hope that law enforcement and prosecutors act swiftly and justly to bring the perpetrator of this crime to justice.”
