AmericaSpeaking Out has been a GOP success this year and Forbes is taking notice. The web site is a forum for Americans to speak out online when they can't do it in person. Read an excerpt for the Forbes piece:
While the Tea Partiers may be getting some of the worst press coverage these days on Youtube, not all right-wingers are marching on D.C. with lawn chairs and poorly typographed signs in tow – many seem to be opining in the 21st century way, through social media, of course.
Spearheaded by Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R- Calif.), America Speaking Out acts as sounding board for the GOP members who can’t make it to the capitol to vent their frustrations. Users are encouraged to offer “solutions for discussion” by posting their ideas in one of five forum categories, most of which fall under classically conservative ideals (National Security and Fiscal Accountability are particularly popular). Once an idea is proposed, site visitors can give it a thumbs up or down (or rather, they decide whether they digg it or not), and the idea either rises to the top with the momentum gained (Reddit much, anyone?), or falls off the radar with little attention.
