From the office of House Leader John Boehner:
Five months ago today, President Obama signed his government takeover of health care into law with promises it would lower costs, help create jobs, and reduce the deficit. Since then, however, three things have become abundantly clear: first, the American people remain squarely opposed to it. Second, it is off to a rocky start, having failed to live up to specific promises made by President Obama and Washington Democrats. Third, Republicans have listened to the American people, heard the rising public backlash against the new law, and offered better solutions.
Here’s one policy expert’s response to a new national survey in the spotlight today that shows Americans have actually lost confidence this year in the nation’s health care system: “The healthcare debate raised people’s expectations and there is now disappointment as a result that the problem isn't solved.”
