Rep. Peter King (NY), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, issued a statement following the arrest of Faisel Shahzad. Shahzad, a Pakistani-born U.S. citizen, was arrested after an attempted car bomb attempt in New York City on Saturday.  King often speaks out on these issues and also appeared this morning to discuss the issue on Fox News. Here is his official statement:

Tonight's arrest of Faisal Shahzad is a tremendous victory for the American people.  I commend the NYPD and the FBI for their outstanding work.  This is a vivid reminder of the deadly and continuing threat of Islamic terrorism to the United States and particularly to the people of New York.
