President Obama Mischaracterizes Republican Health Care Alternative

Now that President Obama has received and read the Republican health care alternative, he cannot deny GOP ideas anymore. However, yesterday he mischaracterized what is included in the alternative, telling a townhall audience that Republicans claimed they could "insure every American for free." This is a false statement.

House Republican Whip Eric Cantor's office clarifies that what Republicans did say is that they would reduce current health care premiums according to CBO. Such a move would allowe people to keep their current health care coverage and not include mandates.
