Pence Applauds House Republican Effort to Stop EPA Regulation of Carbon-dioxide

U.S. Congressman Mike Pence, Chairman of the House Republican Conference and the American Energy Solutions Group, issued the following statement today in support of the effort by Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Joe Barton (R-TX) and other House Republicans to block enforcement of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) “endangerment” ruling on carbon dioxide:

The recent EPA decision to treat the air we exhale as a dangerous pollutant will hurt families and small businesses. It’s clear that if Democrats in Congress can’t kill jobs by imposing a national energy tax, then the president will do so through executive fiat.  However, House Republicans will do everything we can to stop it. I am proud to support the efforts of Representatives Joe Barton, Jim Sensenbrenner, Darrell Issa, Lamar Smith and Ralph Hall.  I urge all my House colleagues to rally around this cause and to send a strong message to the administration that they cannot do an end-run around Congress and the American people.
