On Tuesday, January 1, 2013, the House is scheduled to consider S. 3662, a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 6 Nichols Street in Westminster, Massachusetts as the “Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones Post Office Building, under suspension of the rules. The Senate passed S. 3662 by unanimous consent on December 19, 2012. S. 3662 was referred to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, which discharged the bill by unanimous consent.

S. 3662 would designate the United States Postal Service located at 6 Nichols Street in Westminster, Massachusetts as the “Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones Post Office Building.”

Lt. Ryan Patrick Jones died of injuries sustained when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device on May 2, 2007 while serving in Iraq. Lt. Jones was assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, from Fort Riley, Kansas.
