H.R. 668

A bill to amend section 1105(a) of title 31, United States Code, to require that annual budget submissions of the President to Congress provide an estimate of the cost per taxpayer of the deficit, and for other purposes.

On Tuesday, March 5, 2013, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 668 under a suspension of the rules. The bill was introduced on February 13, 2013 by Rep. Luke Messer (R-IN) and referred to the Committee on the Budget.

H.R. 668 requires the President’s budget submission, in any year there is a projected deficit, to provide a calculation of the deficit per taxpayer.

A nearly identical amendment, H.Amdt. 21, was adopted by voice vote on H.R. 444, The Require a Plan Act.
